Problem: When using Dreamweaver MX V6.1 and scrolling the design window down, the line that goes across the window and separates the filename tabs from the rest of the window breaks free and scrolls up the window.
Hardware: Matrox Millennium G200 video card.
Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional with service pack 3.
Background: Dreamweaver MX has a new workspace layout that allows the user to arrange open pages in a single window and switch between them via tabs at the bottom of the design window. A line separates the filename tabs from the rest of the window. Scrolling the design window down causes this line to break free from the tabs and to move up the window.
Resolution Steps: At first I thought it was a problem with the video card drivers, but upgrading to the latest version didn't fix the problem. Neither did slowing down the Hardware Acceleration.
After much research I found that Dreamweaver has a setting in the registry that seems to affect this problem. The registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Macromedia\Dreamweaver 6\Settings
has a key called WysiwygPrimary
that was set to TRUE. Changing the value to FALSE fixed the problem I was experiencing. I could find no documentation on Macromedia's Dreamweaver Support website telling what this setting is used for.
